Our Story
The story of Lock&Key began right in the middle of life; at university. Our founders, Mehmet Çetiner and Yiğit Yalçın, were personally experiencing one of the biggest crises of the modern world in their freshman year: The crisis of focus.
As university students, they diagnosed that screens were not just tools, but a cycle of addiction that seized their academic success, mental health, and most importantly, their ability to "be in the moment". High phone usage rates in Turkey and anxiety symptoms in more than 25% of young people due to screen time proved that this problem was not just personal, but a social epidemic.
The solution they brought to their own problems soon turned into Lock&Key, combined with the vision of an expert team (Cansel Güzel in R&D, Metin İşçi in Design, Buğrahan Karataş and İbrahim Kadir Keleş in Software).
Why Are We Here?
We are not an "app blocker", we are a focus tool. Our mission is to make the key visible to users who hold the key to focus.
- •End Wasting Time: People waste an average of 6 hours and 40 minutes a day on screens. We take these hours back from "scrolling" gestures and give them back to you.
- •Academic and Professional Freedom: We use the pomodoro technique for students to focus purely on their exams and employees on their projects.
Today Lock&Key; offers a local but global standard solution against phone addiction with the support of stakeholders such as Turkticaret.Net, BTM and Techistanbul.
